Bernese Oberland Ski Tour
This 6 day ski tour, traverses the West Bernese Oberland, starting from Les Diablerets in the west and finishing in Kandersteg in the east. It is a beautiful area which holds the snow well late in the season. The entire tour is in Switzerland but we meet in Chamonix, where the Chamonix Experience office is based, before the trip. We will organise all the logistics from here and reserve rental gear, etc. if required. You also have a chance to do any last minute shopping before setting off.
This ski tour is fairly similar to the Haute Route in terms of technical and physical demands. As for any multi-day ski tour, you should have some previous ski touring experience and you need to be a competent off-piste skier. A good level of fitness is also required in order to sustain 6 days of consistent effort.
What you will discover and appreciate on this Bernese Oberland ski tour is how quiet it is compared to the famous Haute Route, if you have done that trip before. This ski tour is not as well known and therefore a lot less travelled, but nevertheless a fantastic experience. The refuges are nowhere near as crowded and the quality of the food is great. We had one group do this tour last year and they loved it.
There are some variations you can do in case of bad weather which makes this trip great to guide.

For whom: Good off-piste skiers with previous ski touring experience and a good level of fitness. We recommend having done the 6 day Ski Touring Course or have at least similar experience before doing any multi-day ski tour like this one or the Haute Route.
