Vallee Blanche with overnight in a hut
Cosmique Experience
2 days Off Piste with Vallee Blanche and overnight in a hut
Have you ever dreamt of drinking a nice glass of wine in the sunset on the terrace of a mountain hut facing Mont Blanc after a great day of skiing?
Chamonix Experience can help you fulfill that dream. We invite you to join us on a two day off piste itinerary, including a night with dinner and breakfast in a mountain refuge in the heart of the Mont Blanc range.
The first day, we will together with your Chamonix Experience guide, discover one of the prime off piste spots of the Chamonix valley. Our guide will chose an area suitable for the level of the group, with the best snow conditions at the moment.
At the end of the day we will head in the direction of the Aiguille du Midi cable car to catch one of the last lifts up to 3842m. This opens up the door to the high mountains where we find the Cosmique refuge perched on the ridge at 3613 meters, between Chamonix and the Vallee Blanche. To descend the famous “arete” we will rope up with our guide for safety. At the end we put our skis on for the last time today to traverse across to the Cosmique refuge (about 20 min).
At the refuge we will be welcomed by Laurence, Arnault and their team. Weather permitting we should be able to watch a breathtaking sunset over the glaciers and Mont Blanc from the terrace. Dinner will be served around seven o’clock and after that we have the whole evening to enjoy the ambiance of a mountain refuge.
We will wake up the next morning with the first sun hitting the mountains. After breakfast it is time to put our skis on again and head down the Vallee Blanche. If we are leaving reasonably early we should be ahead of the people coming down from the first lift and we should have the whole of the Vallee Blanche area to ourselves, that alone an amazing experience!
If conditions allow we will ski all the way back down to Chamonix. Otherwise, we will take the little gondola lift from the Mer de Glace up to the Montenvers train that will bring us back down to Chamonix. For those who would like to continue skiing we should have time for a few more runs after lunch. If not we can spend a relaxing afternoon and enjoy what Chamonix town has to offer.
