Expedition Training
4 days of Intense Expedition Preparation
In liaison with Chamonix Experience’s sister company Himalayan Experience, we are running expedition training courses all under the supervision of Russell Brice, renowned Himalayan Expedition leader.
If you are planning to spend the time and the money to go on an expedition somewhere in the world, it is well worth spending 4 more days and a bit more money to be properly prepared. The expedition environment is far from the comfort that you are accustomed to at home and can prove stressful for some.
Even if you are not going on an expedition as serious as Everest you should be familiar with expedition life, the gear and techniques before arriving at the start of the expedition. Proper preparation will ease the transition and make your time away much more enjoyable and hopefully successful. Chamonix has the perfect training ground on its doorstep.
You have a chance to bring your own gear to try it out. It is important to be familiar with your gear and to know it works before you arrive at base camp. If you are at the earlier stages of your preparation You can rent some of the gear here. Please refer to the list below to find out what gear is required, what you can rent and what we provide.
We know that our expedition clients often are short of time prior to departure. Therefore we have kept the course short but intense. In order to maximise your training, the client to guide ratio is low, 1:2 during all 4 days.
