Aiguille du Tour via Arête de la Table
We had Swedish ex-ice hockey pro, Patric Kjellberg, here a couple of weeks ago doing a nine day Alpine Climbing Course with Chamonix Experience guide Octavio Defazio. Patric started his mountaineering career from scratch this week but with a high level of fitness he made fast progress.
He wants to build his mountaineering experience step by step and starting with Chamonix Experience’s Alpine Climbing Course is a good beginning. This course is an ideal base for anyone who wishes to learn skills for future climbing, whether the goal is the great peaks of the Himalayas or mellow glacier treks in the Alps.
Having the advantage of being one to one, Patric managed to do a lot of exciting climbing. With Octavio’s local knowledge they climbed interesting variations of traditional peaks like the Aiguille du Tour. The photos in this blog are from a beautiful day and an ascent of the Arête de la Table on the Aiguille du Tour.
This route is more challenging than the normal route up from the Swiss side. It is more of a proper climb than a scramble. It is guided with a maximum of two people per guide.
