Ski Touring the West Bernese Oberland

The very popular Haute Route is many people’s first experience of a multi-day ski tour. If you look further into ski touring in the Alps you quickly discover how many different ski tours there are to do. What you then discover if you actually do one of them is how quiet it is compared to the very busy Haute Route.

This group did the Haute Route last winter and wanted to try another multi-day ski tour this year. Our mountain guide Ric, came up with this 6 day itinerary starting from Les Diablerets in Switzerland. They loved it!

Unfortunately they did not have the best weather for ski touring but this trip is fairly easy to alter and still have a great time, do some nice touring and as you can tell by the photos, ski some amazing powder!

Next season Chamonix Experience is going to offer a few options to the Haute Route. This trip to the West Bernese Oberland will be one of them. We hope that you would like to join us. Keep an eye on our website for more information and dates.

This trip is a fairly similar level to the Haute Route. As for all multi-day ski tours, you should be a competent off-piste skier and have a some previous ski touring experience before setting off.
