We had Swedish ex-ice hockey pro, Patric Kjellberg, here a couple of weeks ago doing a nine day Alpine Climbing Course with Chamonix Experience guide Octavio Defazio. Patric started his mountaineering career from scratch this week but with a high level of fitness he made fast progress.
He wants to build his mountaineering experience step by step and starting with Chamonix Experience’s Alpine Climbing Course is a good beginning. We had three strong climbers, Sean, Rachel and Richard and two Chamonix Experience guides, Jerome and Julien who all climbed Mont Blanc together on the 15th and 16th of July. The stable weather and the physical strength of the group allowed them to do the summit attempt in a slightly different way than normal. They went all the way from the Tramway at Nid d’Aigle, 2372m, past the Gouter hut and straight up to the summit of Mont Blanc 4807m, in one day to then return to the Gouter hut in the evening for a good sleep.

As the Chamonix Experience office was quiet last week we thought we should take the opportunity to benefit from the nice weather and have a staff outing in the mountains. Martina, Elizabeth and Anne headed up to the Albert 1er refuge for the night to climb the Aiguille du Tour.

The Chamonix Experience Alpine Climbing course from the 6th to the 11th of July was led by guide Dave Etherington. Our international group consisted of Steffen from Germany, Hanan from Israel and Esten from Norway.
