The Chamonix area offers many amazing treks into the beautiful wilderness of the French Alps, you can also easily cross over the borders into the neighbouring countries of Italy and Switzerland!

There are myriad options for unforgettable day trips to some of the most amazing places in the Chamonix valley. You can admire the reflection of Mont Blanc in the mirror-like waters of Lac Blanc (2352m), find solitude and breathtaking views along the ridge of the Aiguillette des Houches (2285m), or hunt for fossilised dinosaur footprints at Col de la Terrase (2648m) by the Emosson dam.

If you seek an extra challenge, you can scale Mont Buet (3096m) also known as “Mont Blanc for the Ladies”. Your efforts will be rewarded with amazing views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding glaciers. 

Take your adventure further on a multiday trek, staying overnight in remote mountain refuges. Chamonix valley is located near the borders of Switzerland and Italy, opening up countless options for longer treks such as the Haute Route from Chamonix in France to Zermatt in Switzerland, or the Tour du Mont Blanc which passes through all three countries.

Level Requirements

Chamonix valley and the surrounding region offer treks of all levels: from 3 hours with 150m ascent to 8 hours with more than 1000m ascent. You choose!

We can tailor any hike to suit your level of fitness, but be aware that even the lowest parts of the Chamonix valley are at over 1000m of altitude and this will make any effort feel that bit harder.
