Haute Route Glacier Trek
The classic Chamonix to Zermatt high level glacier traverse
We allow nine days for our Chamonix Zermatt Haute Route glacier trek. This gives plenty of time in the schedule should bad weather intervene and also makes for a much more relaxing and enjoyable trip, which is our primary aim.
Our guided Haute Route itinerary follows the summer route crossing high altitude glaciers via Champex and Arolla. You will be staying in mountain huts for all six nights of the trip so you will only be carrying food and water required for each day.
Before undertaking the Haute Route, you need to have a good level of fitness in order to sustain seven days of hard effort. Though not technically challenging, you should be comfortable walking on crampons roped in a team.
See our summer Haute Route Itinerary page for more information about this glacier trek.
