Mountaineering
Chamonix, the capital of mountaineering, is a world reference when it comes to mountaineering. From the Mont-Blanc massif to the great north faces, the valley offers privileged access to the greatest alpine routes and the most prestigious peaks, such as the Eiger and the Matterhorn.
Mountaineering courses in Chamonix enable you to acquire or consolidate the technical basics: progressing on glacier, snow and rock, rope management and reading the terrain. Theascent of Mont Blanc, an emblematic stage, is part of a rigorous approach focused on safety, acclimatisation and sustainable performance.
With a private mountain guide, every project is tailor-made: classic routes, major itineraries or preparation for expeditions and high altitude. Chamex accompanies you in a committed, demanding and authentic practice of mountaineering, as close as possible to the spirit of the great alpine adventures.
Winter Mountaineering
Winter mountaineering transforms the high mountains into an even more demanding terrain, where snow, ice and frozen rock demand technical progress that respects extreme conditions. In Chamonix, our winter mountaineering programmes offer complete immersion in the icy landscapes of the Mont-Blanc massif, adapted to all levels – from beginner to advanced.
These courses include learning the essential techniques – progressing with crampons, ice axe handling, rope safety, reading snowy and glacial terrain – under the supervision of UIAGM high mountain guides.
ICE CLIMBING
Ice climbing courses are designed to help you learn the basics or perfect your skills: crampon placement, ice axe anchoring, reading the ice and managing your effort. Supervised by mountain guides, the emphasis is on safe, structured progress, adapted to each individual’s level. Tailor-made ice climbing courses offer a personalised approach, ideal for refining technique, preparing for challenging routes or achieving specific objectives. With Chamex, ice climbing becomes an intense and controlled experience, as close as possible to the verticality of winter.
