The Vallée Blanche ski descent is one of the most iconic off-piste experiences in the Alps. Expert snowboarders can also enjoy some sections, although certain flat areas require proper technique and equipment. The Vallée Blanche descent is open when snow conditions are sufficient, usually from mid-January to late April, offering optimal conditions for glacial skiing. Intermediate

You have experience backcountry or side country skiing. You can descend in various snow types, without falling (excessively…) or stopping. You’re comfortable on slopes up to 35°. You have practiced companion rescue, and are familiar with basic traveling methods in avalanche prone terrain.
