5 Days of Off-Piste Skiing in Aosta Valley, Italy

Courmayeur is a favourite destination for off-piste skiing during our Chamonix trips, so why not spend a full week exploring the Italian side of Mont Blanc? This 5-day freeride ski trip takes you deep into the Aosta Valley, with guided access to exceptional off-piste terrain around Courmayeur and La Thuile, as well as the possibility of skiing in Chamonix when conditions are better there.

Off-Piste Skiing in Courmayeur

The lifts on the Italian side of Mont Blanc provide access to a huge variety of off-piste skiing and freeride terrain. Starting from the iconic Youla and Arp cable cars, we can access superb descents in the Val Veny, Arp and Dolonne valleys.

The Gabba lift also provides excellent tree skiing, with varied terrain to suit different levels of off-piste experience. For high-altitude skiing, the Skyway Monte Bianco takes us up to around 3,500 metres in under 10 minutes, providing spectacular access to the Toula Glacier and the world-famous Vallée Blanche**.

Freeride Skiing in La Thuile and La Rosière

A day in La Thuile takes us further off the beaten track, with extensive freeride terrain and the possibility of crossing into La Rosière in France via the Petit Saint-Bernard Pass.

The area offers spectacular views of the south face of Mont Blanc and the glacial landscape of the Rutor. Depending on snow, weather and mountain conditions, we select the best terrain available each day to make the most of your off-piste ski trip.

With the Mont Blanc Unlimited ski pass, we can also travel through the Mont Blanc Tunnel and access the legendary off-piste terrain of Chamonix when conditions are more favourable on the French side.

Italian Mountain Life in Courmayeur

A stay in Courmayeur is about more than skiing. The village combines outstanding alpine terrain with the relaxed atmosphere and culinary traditions of Italy. The chic and traditional restaurants, cafés, bars and shops along Via Roma provide the perfect setting to unwind after a day in the mountains.

Enjoy a fireside aperitivo at Café de la Poste, explore the village, or relax at the thermal baths in nearby Pré-Saint-Didier. With exceptional freeride skiing, spectacular Alpine scenery and authentic Italian hospitality, Courmayeur offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable off-piste ski holiday in Italy.
