You may have never walked in the high mountains, but you’d like to experience the wonders of high altitude scenery. Mountain trails are rarely flat. You’re ready to ascend and descend short, steep sections on your way to discovering nature’s unique, amazing sights
Please note that distances and times can vary according to the route taken. There are variations and your guide will choose the best one for your group. Every itinerary has to allow some flexibility for potential changes caused by weather and mountain conditions.
Ideally you will arrive into Chamonix the day before your hiking trip starts, so that we can meet you beforehand. We'll introduce your guide, run through the itinerary, check that you have everything you need, and answer any questions that you might have.
If you cannot come to meet us then it is not a problem, we can discuss everything over the phone and your guide will be ready for you first thing in the morning on day 1.
Your guide will meet you in the morning and you will take the local train together to Servoz to start your hike. You should bring a picnic lunch for this first day, and enough water and snacks to keep you going.
Tonight you will have dinner and sleep at the Refuge Moede Anterne.
Start the day with breakfast at the refuge, they will provide you with a packed lunch before you set off for the next leg of your tour.
Tonight you will have dinner and sleep at the Refuge La Pierre à Bérard.
Your final day of hiking begins after breakfast at the refuge. You will be given a packed lunch to take with you.
The hiking route finishes in Les Praz, you can decide with your guide if you would like to walk back to Chamonix or take a local bus.
No mountaineering skills are required for this hike. You just need to be steady on your feet and comfortable with scrambling over rocky ground. Some passages have mild exposure.
You need to have a good level of fitness and endurance. You will be hiking for 5-6 hours for 3 consecutive days with an average of 1000m elevation per day.
