Dent du Géant Guided Ascent
Dent du Géant Guided Ascent – 2-Day Trip in the Mont Blanc Massif
Embark on a thrilling Dent du Géant guided ascent, one of the most iconic alpine climbs in the Mont Blanc massif. The Dent du Géant (or Aiguille du Géant), standing proudly at 4,013 meters on the border between France and Italy, offers an unforgettable mountaineering experience. This stunning granite spire lies between Mont Blanc and the Grandes Jorasses, straddling the regions of Haute-Savoie and Val d’Aoste.
Thanks to its dramatic appearance, high altitude, and relatively quick access via the Torino Hut and the Skyway cable car, the Dent du Géant is a favorite among alpinists seeking a classic 4,000-meter summit. The climb combines technical challenge with breathtaking scenery, making it a must-do for experienced climbers.
Our Dent du Géant guided ascent follows the normal route (graded AD- with fixed ropes or D without), beginning from the Torino Hut. The route is well-equipped with fixed ropes on the steep sections, particularly from the Burgener slabs to the summit at Pointe Sella, making it a manageable yet exciting climb for fit and prepared mountaineers.
Join us for a professionally guided 2-day adventure to the top of this legendary peak, and experience one of the most rewarding climbs in the Alps with the support and expertise of certified mountain guides.

D2 Ascent of the Dent du Geant (4013m)
We begin with an early alpine start to climb the Dent du Géant. The approach takes us over snow and ice beneath the striking Aiguilles Marbrées, then up a steep section of mixed terrain to reach the Col du Géant—the gateway to the climb.
From here, we tackle the normal route on the southwest face, a celebrated granite line featuring solid holds and fixed ropes on the steeper pitches. Expect sustained, exhilarating rock climbing up to Grade IV+ (5.7), with dramatic exposure and awe-inspiring views.
We aim for the Pointe Sella, the higher of the peak’s two summits, where a 360-degree panorama of the Mont Blanc massif and surrounding peaks rewards your efforts.
The descent involves multiple rappels down the face, followed by a return across the glacier. We arrive back at Punta Helbronner in the afternoon and descend via the cable car to Courmayeur, completing a truly unforgettable alpine experience.
