Chamonix Valley and the nearby frozen waterfalls in Switzerland and Italy offer some of the best ice climbing in the region. The variety of terrain on our doorstep is excellent and travelling across the Swiss border or through the Mont Blanc tunnel is part of the joy of being in such a great location. Cogne in Italy is one of our favourite day trips and has more than 130 climbing routes on some of the finest ice falls around.
In condition and available for a relatively short period of the season from December to February, ice climbing is an exhilarating and rewarding winter activity not to be overlooked while here in Chamonix. No prior experience is necessary as we will provide full tuition and all required equipment can be rented via Chamex.
We are keen to organise private ice climbing trips for climbers of all levels from beginners to experts. Our UIAGM qualified mountain guides are passionate about ice climbing and will be delighted to share their expertise with you.
